WOOD IS BETTER
RIES tripods have exceptional beauty and handling features as a result of the unique qualities only wood can provide. All components are made in our plant on Bainbridge Island, WA.

VIBRATION - A metal tripod will pick up vibrations, amplify them, and transfer them directly to your camera. The most expensive photographic optics can be instantly rendered worthless by these tremors. RIES tripods, made of wood, absorb the vibrations, and provide a stable and vibration-free support for your camera.

WEIGHT - Many photographers mistakenly assume that aluminum products are lighter than wooden ones. In reality, an aluminum tripod, with support qualities equal to those of a RIES wooden tripod, actually weigh more! It would take far heavier metal leg to match the stability and durability provided by the intricately interwoven grain of lightweight wood.

TEMPERATURE - When working in extreme temperature conditions, RIES wooden tripods are indispensable. They don't absorb heat or cold, so fingers won't stick to them or get burned like they would using a metal tripod.

BEAUTY - No other material has the warmth, allure, or the beautifully-grained intrigue of wood. And let's face it, we wouldn't be involved in photography if we didn't appreciate beauty.

RIES IS BETTER
Each piece of RIES wood is shaped with fine-grain-finish papers, oiled, and sealed to protect the wood. All the metal hardware is custom machined of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, brass or alloys. This means you can use RIES in sand or salt water without damaging the tripod. Simply rinse it with fresh water and wipe it off afterward.

RIES sets up quickly. The legs are easily extended and then locked into place by a quick turn of a knob; no series of telescoping legs to screw and unscrew. The reversible inner leg offers the option of using rubber tips or spikes for stable support wherever you are.

The camera screw, which mounts your camera or a head to the crown of the tripod, is available in 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 thread. And if you use both, they can be quickly and easily exchanged.

With RIES's easy adjustability, why spend time fidgeting with a tripod when you're out to compose and create with your camera?

RIES's unique Tri-Lock feature enables you to position each leg independently of the others, to any of an infinite number of settings within its 90-degree range and lock it securely into place. RIES won't limit your ability to work on hillsides or in cramped studio corners.

    A. Rider clamping screw loosens for movement of leg up to 90°. Tighten to secure leg.

    B. Leg extension locking screws loosen for raising or lowering of legs, or to reverse leg from rubber pad to spike.

    C. Spring-loaded camera screw. Pull down, set head and screw head down.
